GO RIDE A BIKE

GO RIDE A BIKE

There's no other way to say it - we simply love cycling, not only is it amazing exercise - it's the perfect inner city commute - and when our troops are doing Northside deliveries we deem it the triple effect - exercise, work & essential service all wrapped up into one.

The bike is a simple way to enjoy your city and melt away stress. When it comes to cycling it really is as much about the journey as the destination.  Here’s two of our fave Northside tracks

MAIN YARRA TRAIL

The part of the Capital City Trail that follows the Yarra River through the northeastern suburbs to Mullum Mullum Creek Trail is otherwise known as the Main Yarra Trail.  The most popular sections are from the CBD to South Yarra, around Abbotsford Convent, Collingwood Children’s Farm and Dight’s Falls. One of our favourite pit stops is The Farm Cafe Abbotsford.

MERRI CREEK TRAIL

We hand on heart could ride this path every day and not get bored with it.  The Merri Creek trail is a beautiful & unexpected escape right in the heart of Melbourne. There's plenty of spots to stop & eat and an abundance of birds and trees.  The part of the Capital City Trail that follows the Merri Creek is called the Merri Creek Trail. The 21km one-way trail takes you through the suburbs of northern Melbourne, beginning at Dights Falls.  You’ll pass the Brunswick Velodrome, Coburg Lake Reserve with its awesome playgrounds and playground, CERES, hidden horse paddocks and picnic spots. The Merri Creek trail ends in Coburg.

When it comes to our preferred way to peddle - we ride Tokyo Bikes - not only do they have a stylish minimal design they are comfortable and light making them ideal for work or exploring the city we love to call home. Tokyo bike is a small, independent bicycle company founded in 2002 in the quiet Tokyo suburb of Yanaka.  The inspiration and ethos for Tokyo Bike began with the name - in the same way the mountain bike was designed for the mountains, Tokyo Bike was conceived as the perfect way to ride around Tokyo.
